Open Top Dog

Today we took Dorothy, the little green car, to Kevin’s Garage in Winterborne Stickland for its MOT. She’s very old and Monday 29th was her 39th birthday.. poor thing didn’t get any cards and didn’t have a party. Mummy says they used to have treasure hunt parties for her, so maybe she’ll have one next year for her 40th! She still has a giant birthday badge that she can wear on her front bumper.

This is me sitting in the passenger seat.. I’m wearing my new harness which has got a rope lead attached to a bar under the seat. Mummy seemed to think I might want to jump out while she was driving along if I saw another dog or a motorcycle.. but I didn’t. Then again, we didn’t see any dogs or motorcycles!!

Whoooooshhh

It’s really hot out today so it’s lovely to have the wind in your face.. my ears aren’t blowing much in the wind because  mummy was driving slowly so she could take some piccies. She had to keep her finger on the button because she couldn’t see what she was taking pictures of.. some came out okay though.

We left the car at the garage and went for a little walk up through the field.

It’s all going golden now and looks really pretty.

We like going for walks at Winterborne Stickland because there’s a stream runs through the village and, unlike ours, it doesn’t run dry in the summer!! So I could walk in the water and keep my paws cool.

We walked along to the end of the village and then we sat down in a shady spot to have a rest.. well, I had another paddle and then I had a few biscuits.

Usually when we come here we walk through another field to get here but the cows are back in there.. and Mr  Bull is with them.. he’s the black one and the stile is in the top right of the picture under the trees.

A bit too close for comfort so we stuck to the road when we walked back and then went back through the field of barley and down the lane.

We like walking here because not only is there a lovely stream, there are doggy poo bins!! We don’t have any in our village so I have to try and do my poo at the beginning of a walk so that mummy can leave a poo bag somewhere to pick up on our way home. Sometimes we have to walk all the way back to get them because I forget to remind her to pick it up. No poo fairies round here to miraculously take it away!

A big red poo collector!

I can thoroughly recommend open top cars for dogs in hot weather!!

    • Great link Shawnee, thank you!! Dorothy is a bit younger though, and has just gone round the clock once.. reads 21 miles at the moment!! I think we’ll definitely have a birthday party for her 40th next year..
